3040/3041 FOUNDATIONS OF ALGEBRA
Y
Prerequisite:  Students taking this class will be assigned to it by the math department staff and guidance       counselors based on teacher recommendation, MAP scores, and Kansas Mathematics State Assessment Scores.
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12
This is a year course that will introduce the basic concepts of Algebra necessary to build a strong foundation to help a student prepare for an algebra class the following year.

3050/3051 ALGEBRA I
Y
Prerequisite: Previous teacher input, recommended MAP score of 230, or meets standards on Kansas   Mathematics State Assessment.
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12 (This course is recommended for Kansas Regent College admissions)
Algebra I is a year course that will cover units in expressions and equations, linear functions, variables, equations, the real number system, problem solving, polynomials, nonlinear functions, radical and rational functions and data analysis.  An introduction to factoring polynomials, algebraic fractions, and applications of fractions and using equations and systems of equations to solve problems will occur.

3020/3021 ALGEBRA I A
Y
Prerequisite:  Previous teacher input, a recommended MAP score between 220 and 230, or approaches standards on Kansas Mathematics State Assessments.
Algebra 1A is the first year of a two year course in Algebra 1.  The course will give the student multiple experiences to Algebra topics with increased real world relevance topics with increased real world relevance topics.  Topics covered include: Expressions and equations, linear functions, variables, equations, the real number system, and problem solving.

3030/3031 ALGEBRA I B
Y
Prerequisite:  Algebra 1A teacher input, improved MAP score in Spring compared to Fall MAP score or approaches standards on Kansas Mathematics State Assessments.
Algebra 1B is the second year of a two year course in Algebra 1.  The course will give the student multiple experiences to Algebra topics with increased real world relevance topics.   Topics covered include: Polynomials, nonlinear functions, radical and rational functions and data analysis.  An introduction to factoring polynomials, algebraic fractions, and applications of fractions and using equations and systems of equations to solve problems will occur.

3090/3091 GEOMETRY
Y
Prerequisite:  Algebra I with teacher input, a recommended MAP score of 235, or exceeds standards on Kansas Mathematics State Assessments.
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12 (This course is recommended for Kansas Regent College admissions)
Geometry is the study of a deductive system of reasoning and the application of geometric concepts.  The course covers undefined terms, basic definitions, parallel lines, planes, right triangles, and congruent and similar figures.  Students will be exposed to and required to contrast proofs by deductive reasoning, informal proofs, and formal proofs, and indirect proofs.

3070/3071 ALGEBRA II
Y
Prerequisite:  Geometry teacher input, a recommended MAP score of 245, or exceeds standards on Kansas Mathematics State Assessments.
Grade: 9, 10, 11, 12 (This course is recommended for Kansas Regent College admissions)
Algebra II is a continuation of Algebra concepts needed to excel in higher mathematics.  A year long course that covers topics:  Solving equations and inequalities, linear relations and functions, systems of equations and inequalities, matrices, polynomials, quadratic functions and inequalities, and polynomial functions.

3100/3101 •ADVANCED ALGEBRA AND TRIGONONMETRY
Y
Prerequisite:  Algebra II, teacher input, and recommended MAP score of 250 or exceeds standards on Kansas Mathematics State Assessment.
Grade: 10, 11, 12
Advanced Algebra and trigonometry is a full year course covering topics in conic sections, rational expressions and equations, exponential and logarithmic relations, sequences and series, probability and statistics, trigonometric functions, and trigonometric graphs and identities.

3150 •  CALCULUS
Y
Prerequisite: Advanced Algebra/Trigonometry teacher input based on increased MAP scores over the course of student's math career or Kansas Mathematics State Assessments scores.
Grade: 11, 12
Calculus is a full year course covering limits and continuity, derivatives and their applications, integration and its applications.
